None of this would have been a problem if the government would have just recorded the whole transaction to prove their thoroughness. Robert Gouvea did a good breakdown on that issue. The government turned off recording for 25 minutes which gave them carte blanche to do whatever they needed to do to plant evidence. Even if they didn't, they messed up in transparency which is why people don't trust this. Can't look at the documents (obviously); didn't record in great detail exactly what they did either. What's to stop them from planting evidence when they have all of the hallmarks of lying--regardless if they are actually lying? They've ruined their own credibility so they need to own up to it and do it better next time.

I don't see the how Biden even looking more spry in the debate will help him long term. All progress gained by Biden can either be undone by a montage of all his blunders, or undone by new blunder a week later. Like the only people I can see falling for a fluke are probably the people that are going to vote for Biden anyway. If you capture any form of image of a classified document, even low res and blurry, the resulting image *becomes* the highest classification of anything captured in the frame. Honestly the biggest hit on Trump in the case isn't the retention, but the wildly improper storage of this documentation. If I did anything remotely close to this I would be immediately sent to prison for likely the remainder of my natural life.

And to people who feel they've been screwed over by the legal system connect emotionally to Trump, "At least he understands how it is for us". That matters more than people realize. Last election, something that no-one really mentioned is the incredible goodwill Trump gained with the Federal Prison System inmates by making certain concessions and granting amenities. A lot of the higher ups in organized criminal groups are in Federal custody, not State prisons. Now, it's not like im interacting with these high power individuals, but i hear things, things that really surprised me about how sympathetic Trump is seen in the Federal Prisons. Shit like dudes in the Feds have Trump stickers on their lockers. If i were trying to make in roads to minority communities it's where I'd start. The reason being those inmates have extremely high respect. If you have the guy doing twenty five to life for his people saying, "No that guy watches out for us. We're on his radar", everybody beneath them wants to share the views of the most high power guys. Maybe it won't make a difference, but his gains in minority groups within America seem to be gaining ground
